Rules & Policies
Covering Green Power Talk
THE PLAIN
LANGUAGE RULES
Registration to this forum is free! We do insist
that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.
It is our policy to support the free flow of
information in a manner best befitting the renewable energy, green, and
sustainable building community at large. Green Power Talk is an online community
where people may come together to share and discuss a common interest. You are
free to discuss both objective test measurements, findings and opinions and
subjective opinions.
Members must use their real first and last names,
handles are not allowed. Members may add an extension to their last name
such as city or state when necessary to provide a distinct username. We believe
that this helps foster a sense of community, make members behave more
responsibly, and help you identify your fellow forum members (As they say, "your
reputation precedes you"). By the same token, if you choose to associate an
image or avatar with your profile the only image allowed is a picture of
yourself.
Please be aware that accounts, posts, and threads
that you create will not be deleted at a later date (spam or other
objectionable material excepted). Every now and then someone requests that we
delete their account; if there are no posts associated with the account we may
be able to so, however, once there are posts it would wreak havoc with forum
continuity to delete content or accounts. Your account and any posts you choose
to submit become part of the forum (and we thank you for them), and they are there
to stay.
Considering the real-time nature of this bulletin
board, it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of
information posted. Please remember that we at Green Power Talk do not actively
monitor the contents of this board at all times and are not responsible for any
messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or
usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any
message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not
necessarily the views of this forum or any entity associated with this forum.
Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to
contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable
messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame,
if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so
please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages
immediately.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to
post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate,
abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented,
threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate of any law.
You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by
you or by this forum.
Although this forum does not and cannot review the messages posted and is not
responsible for the content of any of these messages, we at this forum reserve
the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain
solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify
and hold harmless Solacity Inc., Jelsoft Enterprises Limited (developers of
vBulletin), and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission
of your message(s).
The Green Power Talks are designed for members to express their opinions,
viewpoints and testimonials on various products, services and events based upon
speculation, personal knowledge and factual information through use, therefore
all views represented here allow no liability upon the publishers of this web
site and the owners of said views assume no liability for any ill will resulting
from these postings. The posts made here are for educational as well as
entertainment purposes and as such anyone viewing this portion of the website
must accept these views as statements of the author of that opinion and agrees
to release the authors from any and all liability.
Green Power Talk is
committed to protecting the privacy of our members. In order to implement or
enforce the Terms, Green Power Talk may use user-provided e-mail addresses to
contact users on an individual basis. At no time, unless such disclosure is
required by law, a governmental agency, or specifically authorized by the user,
will Green Power Talk disclose individual user personal information
without your prior consent.
Green Power Talk and Solacity Inc. will never use your e-mail address for
unsolicited mass-mailings.
Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and
solicitations are very inappropriate on this forum.
Special Note to dealers, re-sellers, or any person or company that deals in
equipment, products, or services for sale. You are not allowed to post items for
sale on the forums, or post with the apparent intent of using Green Power Talk
for the purpose of promoting your products or services. Such posts will be
subject to removal. Solacity Inc. is the only dealer/re-seller allowed to post
commercial items for sale inside the forum or promote items. If you need
promotion services you can contact Solacity Inc. to enquire about banner
advertising. This also holds true for individuals looking to sell used
gear or "special deals" that may have. This is further carried into the
forum signatures and the private message feature. On the same
note...REFERRAL CODES are not allowed to be referenced for they are a sales
tool.
It is OK to discuss products or services,
commercial ones included, for the purpose of promoting discussion on the forums.
As long as it is not a direct advertisement.
If you have personal items for sale, or are
looking for an item, you can post in the "Marketplace" forum. Please note that
this is for personal use only, not for commercial activity nor promotion!
Please do NOT display your e-mail in your
signature of the site. We do this to limit the attraction to e-mail
spamming robot collectors.
All rights reserved. By posting on this forum you
grant Green Power Talk the nonexclusive irrevocable right to re-use your posting
in any manner it or they see fit without notice or compensation to you. No
material contained in this site may be republished or reposted without express
written consent of Solacity Inc., except that message board users retain the
right to republish or repost their own work.
GREEN POWER TALK FORUM TEN
COMMANDMENTS
1. Thou shalt remember that the vast majority of
the posters on this forum are not employees or in any way affiliated with the
businesses on this site or even Green Power Talk, but are in fact unpaid
volunteers who donate hours of their time to provide information and assistance
out of the goodness of their hearts, and without recompense.
2. Thou shalt not abuse, insult, harangue, blame, or take your anger out on same
when you are experiencing problems, or we don't know the answer to your
questions.
3. Thou shalt remember that polite queries will elicit polite and helpful
responses, likewise, that ranting and raving, bashing, and insults will prompt
commensurate responses. Ye shall reap what ye sow.
4. Thou shalt remember that almost all moderators are unpaid volunteers, who
have freely accepted the responsibility of assisting in keeping this Forum
organized and bash-free. They are not required to take bad behavior or insults
by virtue of their voluntary position.
5. Thou shalt not insult, berate, or comment upon anything personal to do with
employees of manufactures who happens to post on this forum. These members most
likely are not personally responsible for whatever is bothering you, and they
works a great deal harder than many of us to try to assist those in need.
6. Thou shalt remember that although we pride ourselves on our collective
ability to provide multiple responses to questions and problems very rapidly, we
do all have jobs, and sometimes the demands of paid employment make quick
responses impossible. Please bear with us.
7. Thou shalt remember that we love to help out, so please don't be shy and feel
free to ask any question (after checking the FAQ first), regardless of how silly
you may feel asking it, and we'll be happy to help. If you don't understand the
FAQ information, let us know, and we'll be happy to clarify any confusion you
may have. (If a FAQ is available for your topic area.)
8. Thou shalt remember to post and let us know if your problem has been
resolved, or if you are having any further difficulties.
9. Thou shalt not hide thy identity, and only use thy real name and picture on
this site.
10. Above all, Thou shalt care for, cherish, protect and thoroughly enjoy thy
renewable energy equipment, thy life, and this planet in general!!!
