Over 5,000PSI of pressurized air tank scares me though. Keep getting visions of scuba tanks or other industrial gas tanks, with snapped off valves. A few thousand pounds of instant rocket thrust in an accident.
Still looks like too many mechanically moving parts. Permanent magnet electric wheel motors in all 4 wheels with no other moving parts has to be more efficient.

Yes,
But if I had the choice between being involved in an accident with vehicle driven by compressed air and one driven by petrol - or compressed natural gas - or batteries - or even diesel, I think I'd go for the air. You never know, if you're lucky, when the valve pops off the rush of supercooled air may extinguish any fires.
Swings and roundabouts I guess.
