Hello All,

I own a Honda 2000 series generator, the ones that produce the clean power. It has a outlet for charging 12V batteries. I have a couple of questions about it.

One, in looking on line I see different opinions on whether the generator is suited to charging RV type batteries. I see some use it to plug into a 110 input for a travel trailer or boat and use the onboard 110 charger to let it do the charging. The theory there seems to run to the fact that they feel the 110 chargers do a better job at filling properly the battery. (I did go ahead and charge my battery yesterday and it did fill it to the 15.V level and after it sat a while it leveled at about 12.8) It went from around 12.5 to that point in around 3 hours or so.

Two, in the manual it talks only about 12v car battery charging and says to unplug the negative side while charging. If I could reach the cord to the battery from the charger, would I have to undo one side of my house 12V wiring, (negative) or can I let it just help run any thing that might be going at the time?

thanks for any experience or suggestion here.

Larry
