Hi! I’m new to the forum and wanted to share info with everyone about Save Our Skins, a new Earthjustice (http://earthjustice.org) campaign I am working with. I messaged rob Beckers and he said it was cool that I post this here, but let me know if I'm stepping on any toes :)

The Save Our Skins campaign was created to combat Congressional plans that will greatly affect the wilderness and endangered species. Save Our Skins passes the soapbox to the animals themselves - each animal uses a Twitter account to narrate their stories. Be sure to follow the Salmon (http://earthjustice.org/salmonsos) - this guy is mostly known as a delicious sushi roll, though he’s making leaps to get all eyes, ears, and gills focused on his shrinking water supply. In Congress, something very fishy is afloat….

Follow the salmon and his friend, the mama polar bear (http://earthjustice.org/polarbearsos)and gray wolf (http://earthjustice.org/wolfsos). All three are resilient creatures who did not survive this long just to have politicians put their existence up for a vote. Please help us get the word out about this vital issue by sending a letter (https://secure.earthjustice.org/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&page=UserAction&id=1105&autologin=true&JServSessionIdr004=mzxm9lm5fb.app334b#startform) to Senators Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell. Earthjustice aims to send 37,000 letters telling Congress that we oppose these attacks on the Endangered Species Act (ESA), and we need you to help us reach our goal! These animals deserve to be on this earth as much as the rest of us: extinction is not an option. Check out more info at our Social Media Release (http://pitch.pe/132023), and feel free to share the news right away via Twitter – click here (http://twitter.com/home?status=Save%20Our%20Skins:%20gray%20wolf,%20p olar%20bear,%20and%20salmon%20fight%20back%20again st%20Congress%20anti-wildlife%20legislation!%20http://earthjustice.org/sos)!

I’m curious to hear your thoughts! Which animal do you most identify with? Are there any other endangered species that you’d like to see extra attention called to?

I identify with the hunter - which are you Melisa? That way I know where to start.

Make that 36,999 letters as I just sent one of the opposite opinion.

Actually, I haven't hunted for 40 years - my personal choice to give the critters my chance.

What others do is up to them but these campaigns are a bit fruity.

There is a certain kind of endangered seabird here in Washington. This particular bird eats fish but will only "nest" in old growth forest. Nest being the operative word because they actually just lay their eggs on the limbs of trees. If the limbs are too small, the eggs fall off. So, in order for this endangered bird to survive, it must have old growth forest within 20 miles of the ocean.

I say, that bird shouldn't have specialized so heavily. Not every species will make it!

On that note, I identify with the Cayote and the Crow. Neither specialize, and both are doing just fine.
