Although so many negative comments to Chinese-made wind turbines such as Skywing, Hummer and Yanzhou Shenzhou, I do find a good supplier for small and medium sized wind turbines, which is named as Shanghai GHREPOWER Green Energy Co., Ltd.

I paid a visit to this company last year in order to find right wind turbines for my farms. This company produces a wide range of wind turbines, controllers and inverters, namely 300w-100kw. To be frank, I was impressed by their R&D capacity around 30 engineers. I stayed in this company for two days to discuss my requirements covering wind turbine, controller, foundation, tower and system solutions. After discussion, I decided to order one unit of 30kw wind system.

I have the 30kw wind system installed at the beginning of 2011 with the site support from GHREPOWER. The turbine has been running almost 5months' time and total production is around 32000kwh (around 6000kwh/month) at the average wind speed of 7m/s. I am satisfied with the production and GHREPOWER asked me to tighten some bolts of tower and nose cone after 3 months' operation (this is the only maintenance work done so far.)

However, GHREPOWER 30kw wind turbine seems much more expensive than other Chinese supplier, which is not good for me at a very low electricity rate.

After 2 years of research countless emails and phone calls we are making the big jump and installing a 50Kw GHrepower on grid tubine here in Australia.

Reports from many people in The UK Europe and the US who have visited the factory have been positive and they could not have been more patient with me.

We are paying for one of thier engineers to come out and do the fit off and connection to the grid and show our guys how to do it.

We are jumpoing in at the deep end but I can't see that there is any other way to find out about a 50Kw unit. Installing 20 2 - 5 Kw units won't teach you much about a 50 Kw.

For the guy who has concerns about the price of the Ghrepower all I can say is check the problems with the cheaper brands listed on this site. Cor (Netherlands) has been most helpful to me but it is only his expertise that has allowed him to save the day for many problems and some of the factories mentioned should not be allowed to sell a product that requires so much after sales changes and alterations.

You should get what you ordered and paid for or they should not be allowed to sell.

SWG seems to be at the heart of most problems and I will add another name to a company that has not lived up to expecations and broke off communications when the questions became a bit pointed. Aeolos. They just ignored me and refused to respond.

The other huge problem everyone has to realise is that the person you are communicating with is probably on commission only and that has a huge impact on what they tell you. Rarely are you ever communicating with an engineer until you lay down to law.
