Hi Ulf,

Could you help me,
I have just bought a 3 kw vertical wind power turbine , and the Aurora Inverter. Could you send me your recommendation on the optimal value for the “Pout Ramp” and “Tprot UV”
Technical specification : 2kw; 190 rpm / 3 Kw; 226 rpm

Thank’s in advance

Fabien

Hi Fabien,

Welcome to the forum!
Those two parameters are the easiest ones (and least critical). "Pout Ramp" is how fast the inverter changes its output power with changes in input voltage. We normally set it as high as the inverter will allow, to 10,000 Watt/second. That makes the inverter respond quickly to changes in the wind speed, instead of 'chasing' it. "Tprot UV" is how long the inverter should stay switched on after the DC input voltage drops below the starting voltage "Vstart". Normally a few minutes is fine for this, around 180 to 300 seconds. Keeping the inverter switched on when the wind falls away costs energy (the inverter uses around 40 Watt at that time), the other side of the coin is that switching the inverter off quickly saves a little energy but it takes about a minute or even a little more for the inverter to come back online after it has been switched off when the input voltage rises above the starting voltage.

The more important part are the voltage - power values in the MPPT curve. Did the manufacturer supply those for you? If not, do you have values for DC voltage at a few power values? The rest could be derived from those.
