View Full Version : Random SWG Circle Count Changes

My SWG 5KW system is limping along. The windspeed is not working and I have been shutting it down when high winds are forecasted.

I've noted the Circle count has randomly changed. It was -1 when I shut it down and was 2 when I turned it back on. System was off for less than 24 hours. I check the circle to see which way to turn it back into the wind.

Temp has been cold, about minus 10 C.

I've noted a couple of jumps before but blamed it on bad memory.

I believe it is now at zero circles. How do I reset it? What might be causing it?

Ken,

when the anemometer is not working then offcourse the reading is not reaching the plc program.

the start-up speed from the program is most 3 ms
so it must see first 3 ms windspeed before the auto yaw starts working
when it sees nothing it thinks there is no wind
why should it face wind when there is no wind ?

repair your anemometer first
maybe it is frozen
then the ax is stuck

I understand why it is not yawing to face the wind. It will track once RPM is over 15 rpm but will not reorient if the wind dies and comes back.

The problem is in the circle counting function. It jumped from -1 to 2 without the system turning.

The system was off for about 15 hours because the wind was too strong so I manually put it at 90 degrees from forecast direction.
