View Full Version : Real-time wind map of US (looks awesome!)

Picked this up from one of the newsfeeds:

It shows in (near) real time what the winds over the US are doing. You can pull up data by hoovering the mouse, and zoom in by clicking. It doesn't say what altitude those winds are at, not too close to the ground in all likelihood (100m / 300ft or so probably).

Looks great though!

By watching that map for the last week or so and comparing what it says vs what the local airport reports, and what I get at 90 feet with my anemometer, I have determined that the map is complied from the readings taken near ground level at airports by automated weather reporting equipment.

Hmm, it doesn't seem to want to load up on mine. Is it working OK?

Hi Penny,
It loads OK here. I think it's an adobe flash thing. Maybe your adobe flash player isn't working right?
