Hi,
For many years I have logged the performance of 7 small wind turbines in NY and AB (power production, wind speed etc at 1 Hz). Some of these efforts have resulted in two MSc theses by Canadian Engineering students. This one is maybe of more general interest, because Stephanie Shaw has worked on the difficult and not-completely-solved problem of improving the prediction of wind energy production from small wind turbines. I attach a copy of the first few pages of her thesis. Anyone interested in more information or the full thesis is invited to Email Stephanie at the address I have added to the title page. This is an ongoing effort at Guelph University so we all hope more will come of this and that readers of Green Power Talk will see more results over the next few years.
