I'm on a search for some late '70's-early '80's Arco Solar panels. The 16-2000 or M-51 model featured the "round" solar cell, in 32-33 staggered cell formation. They must be functional and have an all white background, as many of these have "bronzed" or discolored background substrates due to poor quality control at time of manufacture. See attached photo of original white and discolored "bronzed" variations. I'll pay $100 each for ones with white original backgrounds. Call Joe at 831-726-1139 between 6-7 pm or 8-9 am Pacific Time. Thanks, Joe

Begs the question Joe, why? For artwork I could see wanting that specific panel. Are you trying to keep the roof all looking the same?

Ralph, it's all about getting into the groove- in a past time that has clearly vanished. I'm referring to the Golden Age of solar, back in the late '70's when solar and wind were all about alot more. In 1976 I took a road trip with some then special friends and discovered a community of "drop-outs" up in Mendocino County in northern California. They all had Arco solar panels and very cool smaller wind generators, the ones you don't see anymore- Sencenbaughs, Nite and Days, Bergey originals, Starlites, and a few other that would eventually go under because the public wasn't ready.....Anyway, it's taken me a decade to finally find a bunch of old Arcos in perfect shape, a Sencenbaugh 1000, a three legged Wincharger self-supporting tower, and an attitude that admits that it's all gone the wrong way. But, then again, who cares? We're in a chaotic state of affairs on all levels, waiting for the next ipad to come out. I love my little bubble and wouldn't have it any other way. By the way, that old phrase, "Tune In, Turn On, & Drop Out" still applies! Joe

I have 4 unused Arco 1600 panels. I have had them in storage for the past 30 + years. The panels are all white. I checked them last week and they tested at 17 volts + unloaded. I have not tested them loaded as yet.
If you or anyone are interested in them contact me @ kentec@gate.net
Thanks

Where are you located Ken?
I might be interested, depending on how much it's going to cost. They would make an interesting display for our solar shop.

Thanks Ken!
I'll pass. That's a good price for a panel, but getting it here would be expensive (hauling stuff over the border is pricey).
