Hi Guy's

I have a SWG 10 KW turbine in stock that has a strange output voltage
We have purchased this turbine few years ago and it was all the time in the warehouse and showroom.
So it was never connected or used.

When we set up the turbine we found that there is allmost no power coming out the generator.
the automatic yaw and brake system of this turbine works when the turbine spins arround 190 RPM
this is also the speed that this 8 meter wide turbine maximum wants to do.
let's say we want the thing also not to spin faster.

We sold more of these turbines in the past.
but this one is the new-newer-newest-last type at that time
it has a bigger hydraulic brake unit and electrical yaw motor

connecting this turbine and let it normaly work as it should makes only a 1000 watts of power.
the voltage is not high enough within the range of 0-190 RPM

We have removed the generator and put it on a testbench
the results are that this generator needs 600 rpm to get about 500 volts
at 300 rpm the generator has 235 volts

Normal we expect at 180 rpm about 250 volts

The generator is not broke , it is normaly working.
So we have asked SWG if they have a idee or if they maybe have mounted a wrong generator in this unit.

It seems that this is not possible because they do not make mistakes !

The unit is out of warranty due to the time we had it in stock.

Personally I think there is a wrong type of generator mounted
One that could be for Skywing that has a gearbox

Does anybody out there has had the same expierence ?
and was it solved.

please let me know and in the mean time be carefull with SWG
