Are there working models of these? I assume the more surface area of the blades the better they capture lower speed winds?

Could be built cheaply from something like PVC pipe (just bend and glue in shape), and plastic foil...

On the other hand, efficiency will be pretty terrible; this will be more of a drag than a lift-type device. Good for educational purposes I would think!
