Her resurrection now threatens the survival of the human race as Kaulder, the only one of his kind remaining, faces her vengeful wrath.

With the help of his "handler, confessor and friend" Father Dolan XXXVI (Michael Caine), Kaulder uses his special set of skills to take out some nasty covens, rounding them up for trial and incarceration under the watchful eye of the "witch council" (headed by New Zealand actress Rena Owen).

But while convinced that "everyday I wake up the world sleeps a little easier" and of his popularity among stewardesses worldwide, Kaulder knows there are shades of evil everywhere – a fact brought home when the imminently retiring Dolan is attacked and seemingly killed by "dark magic".

Aided by the 37th Dolan in waiting (Elijah Wood), Kaulder attempts to track down the "murderers", only to discover he may have been betrayed from the very beginning.

Having seen Vin Diesel in other movies I can understand why.

An apocryphal story no doubt, but I heard he got his name when he worked in a ladies' lingerie store as a knickerpicker and diesel fitter. His main work was serving gentlemen who wanted to buy their female friends some sexy underwear, but were unsure what to get. He listened to the gentleman's description of what he thought she might like, and based on that Vin could pick out the correct style and colour of underwear, and when he asked for an indication of size, the customer would indicate with his hands how large (or small) she was, and Vin would reach in to the assembled pile of exotic lacework and hold up a pair of knickers saying "Diesel fitter".
