Here it is - one of the most robust wind generators to come out of the seventies, and is still running! A smaller version of the Jacobs, but without the blade governors, these passed the big wind tests at the Rocky Flats Test Center in 1977. This particular one was at a Vermont residence for over 30 years when I purchased it. It was restored with new bearings, slip rings, etc but it probably needs a new set of blades, or someone to refurbish the old ones. Three six foot sitka spruce props, 1200 watts peak @12 volts, 290 peak RPM before offset tail vane governor activates, 3 to 1 helical gear transmission, with 3 phase a/c alternator. I have one complete restored unit (with worn blades), and another spare unit for spare parts (but without a tail vane or control panel, but with a set of worn blades). I'm guessing that the generator/gearbox weighs in at around 150 lbs.- half the weight of a Jake (Jacobs). These units are recommended to be used in conjuction with Rohn 25G guy wired towers or Rohn three legged self supporting towers. OK, local pickup would be preferable, but shipping is possible. At $1199, this unit is highly discounted compared to the high RPM low quality wind machines flooding the market these days. The Real Thing! For more information, contact Joe at 831-726-1139 between the hours of 8-9 am or 6-7 pm Pacific Time Thanks!

I just bought two unused mills from the se seventies. The othe looks like this one somewhat. Definitely same age. I have one Rohn tower too for these. I miss some part, do you know if parts are still available?

Wow, Amo, you're only one of 2 people that have ever responded to my ad- congratulations for buying one of these far out machines. I sold mine reluctantly a couple years ago, after I realized that it would have been too large for my 45' self-supporting Wincharger tower that was bought from some wind freak in Minnesota. I got turned on to these back in '76-'79 in Sonoma County while attending college- it was right off Highway 101 and millions of people saw it. Too bad only a few bought 'em. I wanted one, but ended up settling for a upgraded Bergey XL-1, a pretty nice looking modern machine, one step below the Sencenbaughs. I actually got ahold of Jim Sencenbaugh, the brainchild of this bird, but he gave it all up, and offers no parts at all. He doesn't even return phone calls! And I've tried plenty. The only thing I can tell you is that they blow these control panel circuit boards occasionally, and unless you are an electrical engineer, you may as well refurbish the whole control panel. One thing is for sure: these wind machines are one of the coolest looking rotating machines ever- and pretty much lost in the past, along with cool people, science, and a groovy world you'd actually want your kid to grow up in, keep laughin', Joe
