convert chicken coop to home

My dad has a small 12 x 16 chicken coop and we want to convert it into a tiny home. Does anyone have any tips about how to go about cleaning it out so it can be a safe/clean living space? I am sure it has to be disinfected and sanitized or something like that but I am unsure what is all involved. Thanks

Kigiji. Sell it, convert it to cash and go to the lumber yard. Whenever it rains you'll smell chicken. Trying to get the mites and other insects out will be a challenge.

I was planning on replacing the wood flooring. Wouldn't this help with the smell?

I think any wood surface will have absorbed the chicken smell over the years. Maybe a good hot steam cleaning (or heated power wash), sand down then seal with a good marine varnish would seal things in. Worth a try for the little cost. Good luck.
