Hi, my name is Gareth and I live in eastern Iowa. I want to understand what is the objective of a dump load for a wind turbine.
1.) Do I want to stall the turbine RPM to point of inefficiency with tail furled?
2.) Should I run turbine with dump load at full power RPM with tail furled?
I have a 5KW Air-O-Power turbine changed to upwind furling tail, patterned after Home Brew power. Once I know the correct objective, then I can figure out appropriate resisters needed for dump load using Ohms law as a guide. Any help and insight will be appreciated.
