VAWT alternator

Hi again.
For the Lenz2 Vawt project i'm building I'm having a hard time finding an alternator for the turbine because it spins at a relatively low rpm. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of alternator I should use.

Hi Maarten,
The typical VAWT, like the Lenz2, needs a custom-made alternator.
You may find it difficult to find details of the alternators that Ed Lenz built for his VAWT's, since those pages have disappeared from the internet and get harder to find all the time.

About 10 years ago, Ed Lenz was a frequent contributor to Fieldlines.com. You may find some of his older postings there are helpful.
