Hi everyone,

I'm Mike, 42 years old and I'm from The Netherlands (Europe).
For some years now I want to create a wind powered generator by myself (instead of buying a generator). But after watching hours of youtube clips I still have troubles getting my head around the stator and rotor build.

Does someone have a link for me to a very good site that discribes in detail what, when and were they do something? With calculations on coil and Permanent Magnet dimentions.
That way I can create the generator diameter I would like.
I'm not looking to build a high power generator. I would like to build a type of Savonius-windturbine that can charge a 12v solar battery or a array of 18650 cells (smartphone powerbanks). And yes I could probibly buy one on Ebay or Aliexpress.... but building my own is more fun!

Hi Mike,

Frank here, also from NL (and Thailand)

You are in luck!

And

Apparently the last link have excel file you can use to make the calculation. Looks quite promising!
(I can not use on my phone but will download and use on my laptop later)

And to make life easy :

Making a wind turbine is relatively easy.
If you have a 3phase motor or real generator, all you need to to is hook it up!

The site can give you many plans for making stands and connections.
Google is also a good friend :-)

If you have more questions, you can put them here or PM.
