Hi everybody,

I would like to have your "expert" opinion on a small generator I would like to buy from Aliexpress:https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/33024947600.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.47e062e 4R6VVjm&algo_pvid=72c1a816-f423-4d22-b577-66a1b03d1a1e&algo_expid=72c1a816-f423-4d22-b577-66a1b03d1a1e-59&btsid=82c4bca9-d019-4763-bd97-5545d358df8b&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb 201603_52

I would like to build a small vertical windmill to charge an array of 18650 cells. That I want to use to power our mobile phones and tablets with in the evening. Or power my LED garden lights.

So...my question to you: is the above generator capabel of doing that?
It has "only" 8 coils so to my knowledge it's not a 3-fase generator. But I don't know enough of this subject to tell if this generator is a good one or just "a toy".

Secondly: is it cheaper to build this generator myself?
I've did some googling but found no "newbie program" to calculate the coil windings with a certain wire thickness. So if someone could post links to newbie quality sites that would be helpfull (I haven't check all pages of this forum yet...:wondering:)

This link to Fieldlines (https://www.fieldlines.com/index.php?topic=143174.0) has an Excel file in the first post that will help calculate axial flux PMG generators, like the one shown on Aliexpress.
