Hello folks, thank you for having a forum for greenhorns like myself. I am technically sound regarding computers, design, and engineering, however without direct instruction I always end up using bits and pieces and end up with cool looking, non working models. My hope is that someone can assist me on a small 12 volt water turbine build from start to finish.

Current Energy source:I have a small outside bait pond that is currently filtered and aerated via a 12 volt battery and solar panel system. It last about three days(doesn't run at night) until the battery drains to the point that I have to charge it with charger. It runs hard for about 8 hours and then slowly decreases to a dribble. I could cycle batteries and get a continuous process, but my wheels started turning and that is how I landed on this page.

Desired Solution: I would like to utilize the water flow that is being cycled within my filtration system to create hydro electric to run my 12 volt DC water pump(pump rate a maximum efficiency is 750gph 6 foot lift .

My brain's solution: Build a small turbine that is driven by my 12v water pumps output and convert that cycle into a micro hydro electric generator that will continually charge my battery system or run the pump.

Any direction would be appreciated, but a start to finish build would be greatly appreciate.

God bless and thanks for reading

Here we go again.

Use the 'search' dropdown in the dark-green menu bar and search on the word 'perpetual'. You'll find lots of previous discussions, usually gentle, as to why this won't work.

Tim, welcome to the forum!
I assume you mean well, but circling energy around as you propose never works.

This is another good link that explains it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion
