This thread really is a continuation of the one started by Cor (https://www.greenpowertalk.org/showthread.php?t=23783). However, that was a while ago, and I thought it better to start a new one.

It turns out that the Power-One/ABB solar PV inverters contain a dual-firmware. They can be switched from solar to wind mode, in effect making an Aurora Wind inverter. Now that their wind inverters are no longer available for sale, and with many people out there that have failing wind inverters, this can be a good way to get a replacement inverter.

I've written a manual, and made the needed software available for download from our corporate Web site: https://www.solacity.com/power-one-abb-aurora-solar-wind-inverters/

Yes! It really works!
