Vane vs Cup vs Other Wind Measurement Device

Hi,

Was just wondering based on the community's extensive experience which type of wind measurement device is more accurate and better to use in measuring free wind for correlating and measuring performance of a wind turbine?

Vane Type
Cup Type
Other Types (Ultrasonic?, etc..)

Cup.
Vane is directional, ultrasonic is nice, but MUCH too pricey. We had the latter at university (I spent some time in Environmental Engineering, part of Civil Engineering where I was). Ultrasonic is nice, no moving parts, very accurate, but their price is at another level...
