View Full Version : aurora not following wind curve

I have an aurora 6000 inverter which is connected to a 6kw proven/sd wind turbine. I have configured a power curve but the inverter is not following the power curve. The symptoms are that the power bounces around alot and often bumps to zero. I have logged the output parameters and everything else seems to be ok. i.e. the inverter stays online but the power output seems to keep dropping to zero. I am at a loss as to what to do - any advice would be useful.

Hi Justin,
What setting are you using for "Pout Ramp" for the Aurora inverter? That parameter determines how fast the inverter responds to changes in input Voltage. I'm racking my brain what useful values for this are, if I recall right there were issues in setting it too high, the inverter would become unstable. Probably a value around 500 Watt/second is reasonable, but it means it takes a little time to respond to changes.
There can also be dynamic behaviour between turbine and inverter (inverter increase the load, turbine slows down, inverter decreases the load, turbine speeds up etc.). Something to watch for.
