Hello
Had blade shaft break today with my 1937 1800W Jacobs wind gen.
The governor is blade actuated type, upgraded around 1960 with rewind to 120V.
Over all working fine from 1985 when i purchased it from the mid west.
Except 5yrs ago when the tail spring broke the loop at the tail and zipped into a fast moving blade braking that in two and bending it's
blade shaft.
So blade repaired epoxied back back together easy break along wood grain 3 foot.
I bent the shaft back and had to tap some set screws into governor casting as the shaft was now loose.
All this trying to get shaft out of casting (heat/cold could not work because of pins someone installed that I could not remove)
I suppose weakened the 1" shaft .

So I am seeking a governor.
Ideas
Any one?

Thanks

Looks like a nice location Michael! Sad looking turbine though...

How hard would it be to fabricate a new governor yourself? They're not too complicated, 1920's technology after all.

Hi Rob
I live on a small island a "developing nation" .
We have a gas station and electricity but no machine shop.
If weather permits I get blades and gov down tomorrow.

Michael, good to hear!
Post some pics once it's up again. Nice to see a 1937 turbine still running...
