Hi there, this is Fritz Chaleff. I'm interested in green power development and how to move it into society. I'd like to see it eventually losing the word "green" because, at that point, it would be ubiquitous in every day life. I'm also concerned about the communication efforts of serious green companies. I work in PR/Media Relations, and while there is certainly a lot of news about hydrogen out there, there is a distinct lack of news about other forms of green energy. And yes, I know that in forums like this, or in blogs or in trade journals, these things are being discussed - but my desire is to see CNN, FOX News or the major networks devoting more segments to average viewers who are not, like we are, enthusiasts. Well, at least not enthusiasts yet :)

Things I'm interested in learning about: magnet power generation, electrical storage, closed carbon cycle renewable fuels, solar/wind brushless motors.

Also, does anybody know a good Green Energy job bank or list? I have a number of friends who send out job lists who would be interested in incorporating green jobs into their e-mails. Thanks, and I look forward to taking more participation in the forums! :D

Greetings and welcome aboard Fritz.

I hope you are very successful in your goal of bringing green energy development to higher public visibility. It seems to be a very strong grass roots program at this time and momentum is gaining daily.:)

Is this the sort of Green Job list you are looking for: http://www.sustainablebusiness.com/jobs/

A link to a news reference for a company I have been watching to see if they can bring some paradigm changing energy storage devices to market. If they can succeed in meeting their claims we will be replacing all chemical batteries in favour of ultra capacitors.

Welcome Fritz!
I believe the RE business is going to be the wave of the future. This is probably a very good time to get started in it.

The better battery is going to be the killer product IMO. So I'm with Mark and hope EEStor will manage to pull off their lofty goals.

I checked out the EEStor information and came across this interesting discussion.

EEStor seems like a longshot, but let's all hope that it's not.

And thanks for the job site Mark, I'll be sure to pass along the information.

Hi there.

I've been trying to calculate our carbon footprint but have been having trouble finding a pertinent calculator. No-one seems to integrate wood heat or zero electricity inputs in their calcs. Has anyone a link to a site whereby i can input propane, diesel, wood and gasoline figures and get a carbon tons number

My best living point is NO AIR TRAVEL. I have been reading George Monbiot's "Heat". It scares the living stuff out of me. I want to feel good about the way we live, off grid, wood heated, etc. and a carbon calculator would be a great start.

thanks

Hi Ralph: arent forums a good way to communicate with lots of peaple. Anyway I've seen lots of them But I cannot remember where. Have you tried searching Carbon footprint calculators. Since I know you and your off GRID you have got to be low!!.,but until you calculate who really knows.. I've Chased Kwh's for years, focused on Efficiency on ALL fronts and those in the know are aware this is not easy nor cheap to do. Re post if you get a link on this or I'll dig some more to get it. Paul:)
