Well,my 30 gal hot water tank is about to die.Not sure when I bought, but it's been awhile.

Allready have the storage tanks( 4) in place ( 220 gal).Already have my four hot water panels in place ( 4 by 12 ) . Not sure what I should do about the existing tank ( 30 gal )

I allready have two heat exchanger in each tank,so we are isolated. It's just the wife and me,so there's not alot of usage going here.I had to drain the panels, temperature did get to 210 Deg's.i was going to cover the panels with tarps.I could also control the amount of sun hitting the panels.

I had it in the back of my mind to to a redro fit in the plumbing area and route it to the water tank.

I was think'n of using a electric hot tank in place of the gas.Do you think 30 gal ok, or Would a larger be better?????

My system has been pumping hot water through ten foot of hot water baseboard. It has done well,at least I think it does.On average,I can see the temperature anywhere from 115 to 125 deg's
I was also think'n about the redro fit I was planning to make a bypass on the storage tank and run it when the sun shines in the winter time.Damn the water get really hot.I remember back then I forgot to fill the drums with water.I had my hand on the one pipe coming from the panel. All of a sudden, the pipe became suddenly hot.It didn't dawn on me,there was no water in the tanks.

I love to talk out loud.I do my think'n at nite.Probably this why I feel exhausted in the morning

If I install a electric hot water tank and still had the baseboard inline with it,wonder how it would work.Definelty would not use any electric during the summer.

think'n out loud

Why not take the extra heat and use it to run a Stirling engine generator to turn it into electricity??
