All,
I am looking for a few good beta testers. If you do not own a Xantrex XW 4024, 4548, or 6048 inverter, then this software will not do anything for you. At a later date I may modify the software to work with other inverter systems, if you do not own a Xantrex XW inverter leave a comment below with the make/model/voltage inverter/controllers and this way I can prioritize by need.
My core portion of the software for the Xantrex XW inverters is pretty much done, with more external interfacing still to be completed, but is quite complete 'as is', and is intended to be used in a single inverter instance (you can gang up to three).
Ideally I would like to have a couple of sites that have solar panels and Xantrex XW Solar controller installed because this is one piece of equipment that I do not have. But a wind turbine and solar installation would be ideal.
The only thing you have to purchase (not from me) is a $100 dongle to connect your computer to the XW inverter. If you own a wind turbine then a DataQ A/D controller would be needed for turbine speed (about $100).
This software is 'monitor only' and does not 'talk' to the inverter, so you will not be voiding any warrantee. This offer is limited to three or four users, so it is on a first-come/first-serve basis. You will be given a license key that will allow you upgrades to all future revisions of the software. I am looking for feedback and validation from the choosen testers, so I need involved testers.
Here is a list of the current features:
runs under MS Windows 2000, XP, Vista
efficient multi-threaded code, only uses 6-8% CPU
asynchronous serial I/O
design incorporates a 'total systems approach'
turbine and or solar installations
totally configurable for each piece of equipment
total graphic user interface (like your car dashboard - but better)
configurable warnings and ranges for gauges
logging output configurable for frequency and file formats (csv, html, xls)
logging of instaneous, average, daily and monthly readings
screen click-thoughs to see detailed output for each system
colors are configurable
battery 'LED' display
status and warning lights
provides maintenance reminders
recording of meter readings
pop-up warnings
equipment inventory
