View Full Version : Up to my neck in biomass

I am starting a hydroponic tomato greenhouse business and am evaluating heating systems. I am in the trees in western Montana and have 45 acres of trees so clearly wood chips would be my cheapest supply. I have been looking into pellet/biomass stoves but cannot find an outdoor boiler type pellet stove that uses multi fuel (pellets, chips, corn etc), Any suggestions/links to sources of equipment and information about multi fuel biomass stoves. I would prefer something that heated water so I could easily circulate through the greenhouse for radiant heat and also use it to warm my hydro solution.

thanks

Hal

at the central boiler site, they are now selling a bio-burner(corn/pellets) for the DR models, as well as a dedicated corn/pellet Outdoor furnace...most of the commercial chip units are in the 1+ million BTU range at the moment, at least those I am familar with.
