I have been floating an idea to lower the drain on our limited battery bank, yet on the same token being able to use products which still fill our needs.

Has anyone been able to run a greenhouse or home with just a 12v system? We would require a few small pumps to run on timers, in the area of 300 to 600 GPH. A air bubble system like those found in your basic fish tank. These are for our greenhouse which is outdoors and has no real need for extra light. The natural light is great when it is not fogged in ;)

As for a 12v distribution panel, what have people used? Would a simple setup from either a marine or RV type dealer work, or has anyone gone the DIY route with much success?

Any ideas or pointers would be a big help.

I am building up a system using car audio fuse blocks. I posted it under "balance of systems" and then "new system wiring. I am trying to provide a link to the thread here. I hope this works.
