Hi, I just found this website from following a link that Dan Lenox had posted on otherpower. Thanks Dan!
I live in the mid-western part of the US on a little 30 acre plot. I'm semi-retired from farming...simply because it's not as much fun as it used to be. For 21 years, I have made my living repairing scientific instruments, data loggers and about anything involving electronics or electricity.
I have wanted to build a wind turbines since the 70's. I thought it would be simple. I had a lot to learn. Now 9 years have past since the first one went into the air and number 8 is on the drawing board. (No #7 is still in the air) I can't get enough! All of them have been axial so far. I have one more I want to build. Then I intend to convert some of my 3 phase electric motors for wind use.
I am very glad to join this board. I recognize quite a few members here from other web sites.
