Well, less actually. The total length of the coast decreases as the area of land decreases.

Problem with tidal farms is that they extract so little energy that you have to use up massive amounts of the most expensive land on Earth to make them. If you think people dislike solar and wind farms in the boondocks, wait until you try to put massive tide farms on Catalina island, the Great Barrier reef, or something like that.
