Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" was on Showtime last night, in HD. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a great movie (at least I think so). Seeing it in high-definition makes it even better. It'll be showing at various times on the Showtime channels for the next several weeks if you missed it. Here are a few times that it'll be on:

03/12/2007 9:00 PM
03/13/2007 6:10 PM (HD)
03/13/2007 9:10 PM
03/14/2007 4:45 PM
03/16/2007 6:45 PM (HD)
03/16/2007 9:45 PM
03/17/2007 11:00 AM
03/17/2007 8:00 PM
03/18/2007 11:00 AM
03/18/2007 8:00 PM
03/20/2007 1:15 PM
03/20/2007 10:00 PM
03/22/2007 8:05 PM (HD)

Saw it in the theatre last year. Although it was pretty much a case of "preaching to the converted" I'd have to say "go and see it".

There was a Canadian-made program on the TV a couple of weeks ago called something like "The Denial Machine" or similar which spoke about (and interviewed) people who were being paid to deny that there was climate change (same people who were being paid by the tobacco lobby "way back when").

A bit worrying how some people are prepared to say whatever they're paid to say and just have no conscience about the consequences. One guy (Singer??) was being touted as a "scientific researcher" and yet when pressed about the bona fides of those who paid him, and didn't he have an obligation as a researcher to "research" this matter just said "It's not my job".
