View Full Version : Gusts, wind speed and the Aurora inverter

Hello Everyone,

This time I want to share my experience with the measurements obtained with:

- my Lacrosse Weather station, regarding gust and wind speed,

- the data registered by the Aurora inverter, and

- the calculations made by software regarding the predicted wind speed.

Normally there is a strong correspondence between the gust and calculations, not with the measured wind speed. On the other hand in spite we can see the highest peaks in the Aurora due to gusts, it does not register those peaks as daily peaks. It seems that normal measurements both in the LWS and the Aurora seems to be average ones, just as with RMS values in electrical measurements. What do you think? Am I right? Any ideas?

Best regards
